Update/Back online/New York

Journal Entry: Sat Feb 23, 2008, 4:04 PM
  • Mood: Tired
  • Listening to: Mitternacht - E Nomine
  • Reading: I Am the Great Horse by Katherine Roberts
  • Eating: Crumble :D

Okay, wow. I...may have the internet back. After what...a month and a bit? It actually died in the region of the first few days of January, just before I got round to updating my journal from the one from Dec 8th. To cut an extremely long and mostly technical-slash-vague explanation short, it’s fixed.

I also have nearly 400 messages, and 1k+ deviations to go through. Oh yay. I think most of the messages are stamp faves (slash stamp is up to 138 :fear:), which is faintly disheartening, but what can you do. x)

2nd to the 6th of Feb saw me in New York on an Art trip with school…had lots of fun and possibly scared the residents, particularly the patrons and staff of the Tick Tock diner. :XD: Fantastic food there, so hopefully we paid them back in revisits and recommendations. :D Everything seems to be bigger in NY – buildings, cars, portions, you name it. I personally think the blocks system is a little ugly, but boy was it handy for navigation. We also got asked several times – “Hey, are you guys from England?” and once “Australia”. xDDD And London seems to be the first place to assume we come from. :giggle: The Empire State building was…big, and extremely cold. The Statue of Liberty was…big and very green, with a surprisingly fascinating museum. I hate art galleries, but the Met was fantastic, particularly Arms and Armour (horse armour….drooool). Gugenheim and MoMA not so much. Times Square was impressive, ditto on the Brooklyn Bridge view, and the Chrysler Building was pretty. x) The ice rink in Central Park was nice, EJ’s Diner’s waffles were fantastic, the MANGA AVAILABLE IN BORDERS WAS DROOLWORTHY, Bubagump’s Shrimp Co was hilarious, Grand Central Station was really cool, and OMG I WANT THE NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM.

It snowed one morning which was nice, we did a shedload of walking which killed my screwy hips a couple of times, and I got asked for an encore by a security guard after I told our head of art to “heel”. x) I had really bad conjunctivitis for at least half the trip though, (as in full blown weeping/pus/I-can’t-see-out-of-my-right-eye type conjunctivitis) which was faintly scary, particularly when it was so bad I had my oh-so-sexy hat pulled down over it because it was easier not seeing out of one eye than seeing half blurry and gunky and itchy. Did make depth perception interesting though, and crowd negotiation was harder. Luckily we did Times Square twice, so I got to see it properly later in the trip. x)

Since then, I’ve been doing school things, university things and extremely silly things with my and others’ hearts, and doodling.

Trades – I have NOT forgotten you! :noes: They’re still going, I am just extremely a) slow b) unmotivated c) busy d) PURPLE no, wait… Anyway, DON’T GIVE UP ON ME! :noes: *flails* :glomp:

I’m now using Opera. It’s fast and sexy. x)

You're welcome! I loved it; it's so blunt. And, yeah. I'd love it if people would just get over the fact that I slash.

Like maybe clay modeling. I think you could really rock 3-D with your style. But put up more traditional, I guess is also what I meant. (Sorry, I kinda lost the thread of my original intent; it has been a while) (x

Thank you very much! :) (Sorry this is so late, too o.o) That's very nice of you. What do you mean by other media? I usually do things digitally, but I've got quite a lot under traditional, too. :)

You have great skillz. I admire your animals greatly, and I'd be interested to see your work in other mediums (if you have any, I mean)

Ooh, that clears a lot of things up ^^
I like her better in the first movie as well. And VERY much agreed, they should've stopped after movie 1. It sort of...takes away from the actual story (even though it was rather different) - but I mean, you don't need a bunch of kids screaming around saying that the legendary Balto's blood in in their rusty-coloured husky. :sigh:

Aniu, yeah, she's Balto's mum. :D The one that appears in the first in the snowstorm and later in number two...some...time I can't recall. :XD: And Balto himself mentions that his father was a husky that had pups with a wolf... I like her; she's pretty cool. :XD: Though I do prefer her design in the first movie - you know, I think just everything was better in the first. They really should have left it.

Haha, yeah, I can understand. One look at this new animation and I'm heading for the door. Just, I force myself to sit down because I absolutely adore Balto and all of his goodness. But agreed, number one was the only one that really represented...well, anything at all. Haha, and what is this about Balto's mother I've been hearing? Aniu..er...>_> Alui..well in any case, I've heard rumours that the white wolf is Balto's mother. Know anything about it?

Haha, I know the feeling. ;) I enjoy bringing back the ol' childhood. :giggle: Yeah, the third movie is...er... The Wings of Change, I think. I'm not convinced about either II or III; in my opinion number one outstripped them by a thousand miles, and I find Aleu downright annoying, but hey. :XD:
No problem! :D

Wow. You just brought back my entire childhood in like, 4 seconds, haha. Thank you so much! :big hug: I didn't know that there was a...third movie? I didn't so much like the second one, I have no idea why they made it, but it was Balto so I had to watch it..

anyways, thanks again!

Hiya, yeah, I'd been looking for the OST for ages too, and I'd pretty much given up when had another Balto-binge and found Balto Source - it's got loads of information on all three movies annnnd it has the OST! :D The multimedia page for the first movie has a link to the songs on the OST about halfway down. Also, the soundtracks for movies II and III haven't been (and probably will not be) released, but the site makers have managed to extract the music - nearly untouched by extraneous dialogue - from the dvd audio channels, and have made their own unofficial OSTs, if you're interested. :D They are on the multimedia pages for the other movies.
Oh yah, and thanks. :XD:

I was wondering where you were able to find the Balto soundtrack? I've been looking for the longest time for the music, but can't find it anywhere!

some help would be much appreciated :)

your drawings are amazing, too.

THIS IS A HUG CERTIFICATE ! !

Send one to all your friends who you think deserve a hug (which, hopefully includes the person who sent it to you)!!

You might send it to your enemies as well!
It'll really make them stop and think!!!

If you don't receive this back, nobody likes you, and they wish you'd stop bugging them!

If you receive this back 1 time, open up! Find more friends, enemies, or enemies pretending to be friends

If you receive this back 2 times, you're off to a good start! (Unless you sent it to yourself! That's cheating!)

If you receive this back 3 times, you're a good friend.

If you receive this back 4 times, you're truly loved as a friend!!
