Artist's Comments

So, my biro sketches have taken a step up since the last requests I did - mostly thanks, mortifyingly enough, to my digimon series. :XD: ~Enyalia, who is very lovely, has translated some Valentino lyrics and some Dino Merlin lyrics that I've been dying to know the translation of (croatian and bosnian online translation ranges from piss-poor to nonexistant) and seems to be game for more. :) So I gave her a sketch request, may be the first of several; I'm certainly grateful. :D
She wanted a wolf, sitting, howling at the moon. A couple of photo refs used for markings and anatomy, pose generally done in Poser. (But since its wolf model is so spectacularly bad, it was mostly a perspective reference, because I wanted a bit of a spiffy perspective. Even so, I failed on background perspective, I'm sorry! :cries:)
I ended up pretty proud of the anatomy - you can tell when I've reffed, because it actually looks like the animal it's meant to be....:XD: But I'm not an epic wolf draw-er, so be gentle. ;)
Anyhoo, a few hours, done on holiday in Ireland. :D

Thank you, ~Enyalia! :w00t:

That, is absolutely stunning.

What a magnificent sketch, I could only wish my sketches were that good!

The anatomy is wonderful, and damn, those are some good paws.

I couldn't draw paws that well to save my life. xD

This is an awesome sketch. Can it even be called just a sketch? It's really neat overall, and I especially love the paws and the mouth. Great work.

Thank you very much! :blushes: It's not really a sketch per se, but my sketches are so light and unintelligible that they're the other end of "not really a sketch". :giggle:
I'm really glad you like the paws - one day a while ago I sat down and thought "right, I'm going to learn how to draw freaking paws", because I'd been stuck with the same awfully bad stylised ones for years without ever actually knowing how they really looked. So, one, I'm really glad you like them, and two, despite the fact that I'm sure you're not as bad as you say you are :XD: it's not hard to learn. Just grab a tutorial or two or three, there's some great ones on dA. :)

I guess it's a step up and sideways from my sketches really. :XD: My real sketches are really light (2H light) and a bit unintelligible. My biro sketches have all the construction lines and bits where I've crapped up royally. Soo, for something for someone else, I don't really want to give them just that, so I do my souped up birosketch, which is pencil sketch then biro lines and shading. If it was meant to be less, I could leave it at lines but...I wanted to do more; makes it less empty. x)
Er, I mean no, it's not really just a sketch. xDDDDD
Thank you very much! :)

This is wonderfully beauitul.

I am so sorry for taking so long to comment on your art, I have been in the hospital, visiting my dad (still doing that actually), and so much else. And it is such a nice thing to get to look at your art again. Wow, this is amazing. I want to thank you for sharing it.
:iconapocalypsebunny:
Sorry I'm so late replying! :blushes: I haven't nearly as decent a reason as you; how is your dad faring, by the way? I hope it's not too serious...?
And thank you, for your kind words. :)

Oh, I was in the hospital. And later, I visited my dad. Those were two different events. Sorry that it was confusing! OOPS!

And you are welcome!
:iconapocalypsebunny:
Oh, right! I get it, sorry. xDDD But - how come you were in hospital? D: Are you better, whatever it was?

Eh, I tried to commit suicide. I was lucky they let me back out. I'm kinda okay, just haven't been on my meds 'cause my insurance was dropped.

I PROMISE I AM GETTING TRADES DONE, haven't been getting much motivation due to the same fact as above.
